This manual describes a means of interpreting and classifying fingerprints to allow persons unfamiliar with fingerprinting to identify and record prints. Fingerprints are classified using standardized codes which facilitate positive identification between distant parties using telephone or radio communication. Two persons speaking different languages could positively ID a set of fingerprints over the telephone using this system.
